From One Beggar to Another….

I love, and even welcome, new opportunities! Opportunities often show up unexpectedly and only  offer a small window in which to take advantage of them. As an outdoorsman, I have had opportunities to participate in hunts for elk in Colorado, and bear in Canada. Both of those created lifelong memories that I relive almost daily. I have enjoyed other opportunities as well. Mission trips to Wyoming, South Dakota, Iowa are among the few memorable opportunities I have enjoyed. I have had a few impromptu visits to Alaska, one in the summer and twice in the winter. I experienced mosquitos as big as humming birds and frigid temperatures at the -40ᵒ mark but the beauty of the land in both seasons far exceeded the negative.

I am excited about the new year that is approaching! I know that my God has great things in store for me, and, for you as well. I have heard some say, “Well, I hope it’s better than last year! Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Pray, with confidence, for new opportunities to come your way during the new year. “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”

1 John 5:14-15  Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

This is not a prosperity prayer but a prayer for us to carry out His will!

My prayer for 2026 is that God will provide me with opportunities (building blocks) to build His kingdom, one block at a time. Already, for the new year has not yet begun, God is in the process of putting together an evangelistic event next fall. I will elaborate more on this as time goes by. I will say that monies have already been donated. Such an event was planned back in 2002 with Evangelist, Rick Gage, and we were challenged to write someone’s name down in our bible three months ahead of the event and pray they would give their heart to Jesus. On the second day of the event, my dad walked down out of the bleachers and did just that! He was 76 years old.

I am also praying for 100% participation from SRBA churches. Can you imagine if each of us began to pray for the salvation of a friend or loved one and as a result they placed their faith and trust in the one and only person who truly saves?! Talk about opportunity! Let us start praying for that someone close to you that needs a special touch from the Master’s hand. Who knows, they may come to know Jesus early and bring one of their friends to Jesus as well.

Let me know about your opportunities in the coming year and how God blesses you through them.

Also, thank you for trusting me to be the Interim Director of Missions (opportunity) until we find the right person who God is preparing for SRBA!

I am honored to “stand in the gap”!
