What to Expect

When you walk into the doors at Second Baptist Church, our hope is that you feel like you are a part of the family. Our ultimate desire, as a body of devoted followers of Jesus, is to create an environment where people can experience the presence of God in a life-transforming way.

Worship Service

We have a wonderful worship service at Second Baptist Church, beginning at 10:45 a.m. in the sanctuary. We offer a traditional format that is similar week to week. The music includes both hymns and contemporary songs with special music by individuals and/or the choir. There are also times of prayer and a message from the pastor. There will typically be a few people dressed up and many people dressed casually in our service, so come dressed however you feel comfortable. Our worship service usually last about 60 minutes. These services might be a little bit longer than some church services, but we do our best to make this a time of meaningful worship. Nursery services are provided during this time for parents who wish to use them, but children are also welcome in the services.

Sunday School

Sunday school is a part of our small group ministry at Second Baptist Church. We encourage all believers to be involved in some kind of small group Bible study and discussion group. This is where people can really begin to dig into God’s word and develop relationships with other believers. We offer Sunday school classes for all ages and encourage everyone to find a class to be involved with. If you cannot make it to a Sunday school class on Sunday morning, we also have some groups that meet on other days through the week.
